Literature Text

Another dawn
     And forth it brings
          The hateful spawns
               Can freedom wring?
Upon the day
     The throb collides
          Rending through
               Opaque pride
The empty shelves
     Now silent idle
          Where once dwelled
               Half-full vials
Dust collects
     These hobbled towns
          The call of growth
               But mocking clowns
The circus rambles
     Another jest
          The jabbing brambles
               Destroy the rest
The fired village
     Now a smolder
          The giant fissure
               Immobile boulders
But hear the call
     Whispered hoarders
          The shattered halls
               Join the order
The desolation
     Leaves a waste
          And carrion fodder
               Moves in haste
And come the dusk
     Bares those impaled
          The freedom husk
               Does hate prevail?
A poem about the familial relationships that now exist following my father's death. Also each word was selected extremely carefully, some involve a play on words or a play on sayings.
